RE: Portable GPS
Garmin 276C. not the cheapest available, but the downloadable maps have a lot of non-paved roads on them, most helpful when out playing.

RE: Portable GPS
Wife has the Tom Tom. I only have the Garmin Map 60 CSX. It is a really good hand held but the screen is too small for driving and reading.

RE: Portable GPS
I'm looking at the Tom Tom One 3rd Generation. From the reviews on Crutchfield they have everything that you NEED for on-road driving. It's either that or the Garmin 260W

RE: Portable GPS
My boyfriend just got the new Garmin... it's pretty cool... He did alot of research before he bought, and he said they seemed to be the one of the best out there

RE: Portable GPS
I have always had Garmin, three different generations now... I have traveled all over Canada and Europe with it and found it great!!! I would recommend it, a Nuvi 650 or a Nuvi 700 series...

Keep theft in mind when you buy/use a portable GPS. Those suction cup rings on your windshield are telltales to thieves

RE: Portable GPS
I have the Garmin Nuvi 660 series and found that it works great, but he already bought one and he didn't go with any of our choices. So much for asking our advice, we give it to him and he ignores it. j/k...lol.:D;):D
