Please post pics of gauge installations
I want to add a voltmeter and oil pressure gauge and I'm interested in where/how others did it.

Scan gauge II, in the Daystar Dash Panel. Got no pics of it, I know what it looks like because I see it darn near every day.

I slapped my Scan gauge on the steering column to see how it worked and it has been there every since.
Not much choice on gauges without some sort of pod or modding the Daystar tray, but I have my O'x!#* meter there. I have an A-pillar mount in my Cummins, maybe something like that would adapt? They are vehicle specific but can be cut on with a dremel. I can't remember if the upgrade on the scan gauge allowed oil pressure with some code punched in. voltmeter and oil pressure gauge
if you mean REAL meters, position is one thing, your option, connection is another.
volt meter is ez obviously, oil is not. yrs ago i would use a brass t to keep the idiot lite and add a sw oil gage. on a ford it was ez,on an h3 its??? not. i cant find ANY info on the thread size used on the sending unit. not metric, not sae or American or whatever. i borrowed a sending unit at az and searched in vain. no match. there was a guy there who claimed to be a plumbing "xpert", and he left , shaking his head. i like real gages, but? |

where to be found?. not at ace hdwe!, or auto zone
oops, then u gotta go to the std? "t",whatever it is and the stock sending unit has to go in,and the sw gage?? |

NAPA has the British pipe thread pieces. They just don't know it. Have them look in the catalog.
I got a kit for my Yanmar diesel that put a T for the light/buzzer and gauge from NAPA. It is a generic British pipe thread kit with a T in there, not vehicle or engine specific. I just have not had time to research one for the H3, yet. |
