Passkey can be defeated!

Thanks to PCM of NC programming my PCM, Passkey is now turned off. This morning, I hop in the H3, turn the ignition and it fires up. Meanwhile, the BCM is blinking the security light because it failed to get the proper signal from the ignition cylinder. Yay! I don't have to wait 10 minutes to re-try starting the H3. So I drive for 10 minutes with the blinking security light and then it goes off. I highly reccomend having PCMforless turning that http://www.hummer4x4offroad.com/foru...s/censored.gif passlock off if you have them tune your H3

WARNING:

This is not reccomended if your H3 is under warranty, you have an active OnStar subscription or you want to keep the OEM security system. This is an optional fix for those with passlock ignition cylinders that do not function 100%.

Ive not had my hummer but for a couple months and I know nothing abou tthe passkey. what do you mean by having to wait 10 minutes to retry starting?

If you turn the key to start, and you get is it cranking and not firing and you see a blinking red light you have tripped the passkey security. Wait 10 minutes for it to time out and try again. Key cylinder on H3's and Colorado's fail or get flakey with age. Suppsoed to stop a thief from hot wiring your truck.instead you get locked out.

Ordered Today

Just ordered a new PCM from them. My wife's H3 has gotten annoying. We have gotten new key made, and it still appears to be an issue. After a lot of research, it looks like the fixes are: order a new PCM, or send it to the dealer to have the tumbler replaced. I chose to go with the the PCM, might as well get some extra horsepower while I am at it right?

I think that is what the NewRockies kit achieves. It bypasses every part of it supposedly.
