Overheating issues 2000 H1
Hi, I have a 2000 H1. When I tow and the temperature is above 70 degrees up hills the vehicle will end up overheating and I need to pull over and stop. I am towing about 5,000lbs. Is there anything I can do?
I have low temp thermostats, rubber duck hood vents. Ive made sure the radiator is clean and not caked with mud.
I know people are going to say that the vehicle is not the best for towing. Is there any upgraded fan clutch I can get? Or a different radiator? I was going to purchase a Predator aluminum radiator. However I was told by a prominent H1 Mechanic in Orange county that it does not do much good and was a waste of money.
Is there a better fan clutch? any ideas on how to get better cooling? Maybe a high performance water pump.
Attached are some pics. Thanks for any help.

H1s run hot. Climbing inclines, towing, driving at high speeds will all produces those results. Mix a couple of them together and your temps approach redline. The things most people do is slow down and turn off the AC. Not towing I will slow down to 40 mph climbing long or steep inclines. Throw in a trailer and.....I have no experience with the Predator radiator but many people have tried numerous fan set ups without much success. You have an underpowered brick that is geared and set up more for low speed wheeling and Offroad adventure than towing a ski boat to the river or a toy hauler to the desert.
Thanks for the response. I guess what I'm mainly trying to figure out is what would maximize my cooling. I found this site that sells an upgraded fan and fan clutch
SEVERE DUTY Fan Upgrade (late) :: SSDiesel Supply :: GM 6.5 TD Specialists
Any idea if something like this would help?
Thanks again

installing an intercooler will be the best benfit you coudl get for the money. If you are running standard boost, cooling the charge will really help keep exhaust gas temperatures down. Temperature is expelled from an engine through exhaust, water coolant and oil....
Thanks for the responses. I do not have any coolant loss...at least nothing I can tell so far. I guess I can have the compression checked...but the car only has about 35,000 miles on it. I doubt that the compression would go bad in such little mileage.
It has about 38K miles on it. Hopefully I am beyond the #8 cylinder failure point. I've been looking at possibly doing an intercooler kit. Predator makes one as does UORVA and Rubberduck says they are testing a kit. That may help solve the problem. I also looked at a company called Banks. They seem to possibly have some good stuff.
