Why is this? Can you elaborate a bit?

What other GM products could that module be harvested from? Any? None? I'm trying out my 3 months free Onstar now. It's pretty lame. It should be like a $10 a month service fee and pay only if you use it. Time and material.

In my opinion Onstar is junk. Don't pay for it. Instead get AAA or better yet save your $ and go without but be sure your H is solid and will not break down.

Oh, the horror of no nanny system! What did we ever do for a hundred years without OnStar? How could we have survived so long? Oh, I know- we took responsibility for our actions like adults and learned to have the keys in our hands before locking and shutting the door. :/

I'd like to know the answer to this also if anyone out there knows. My Onstar went out and I like knowing that my wife is safe while on the road traveling. Some thinks it's junk or not worth it but I like knowing that my wife is just a push of a button away from help in case she can't get to her phone or it don't work in the area she's in. Friend of mine wife went down off an embankment and was knocked out cold. W/O onstar they wouldn't have found her in time! So I don't care how much it cost per month or per min! It's worth every penny if you care about someone.

Hey Reineke, Did you have to take it to the dealership to have it programmed to your truck?
