Default Oil light

06 H3 and the oil light comes on every once in a while. It's full of oil. Any ideas? Oil pump going out? Sensor? Turn the motor off, restart and the light goes off. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

any noises? if its low pressure my first thought is bearings or any area that affects pressure, OTHER than the pump. i dont know this engine in the long term. older cars lost pressure when main/rod bearings wore thin.

could be other stuff in the i5, ? if it comes on when hot, see above!

Replace the OPS I would also do an engine flush and refill with syn. GL

Same thing happened to my h3. It was under warrenty and they said moisture was getting in the clip for the sensor and they replaced the sensor and hasent happened since. It's located above the oil filter I believe and I know you need a special socket to remove and instal it. And do not over tighten it. Easy to snap them. Good luck

Changed it out and no light today to work and back. Hope that was it. The special tool was very helpful. I took off the tension pulley for better access.
Thanks again.

Nice work! The ops fails from buildup inside the engine. Did you look at the porthole threaded into the engine for excessive contamination?
