Default Light displays

Would you put extra relays in system or just tag into the wiring, is the system strong enough to cope with the additional amps

I would put in extra relays triggered off the stock relays. Others have just tapped into the stock power feeds, but I advise against that.

This is how I did mine.

This bundle of wires goes through the corner marker trim and runs down the windshield trim on the driver side.

From the windshield trim it runs under the cowel cover, comes back around into the engine compartment.

From there the wiring goes the the relays, a total of 3. I have one switch for the outside 4 lights, one switch for the inner 4 lights, and one switch for the rear 2 lights.

I know you want yours wired into the factory wiring. I would recomment picking up a relay harness and simply using the factory 12v signal wire to close the relay. That way the lights are pulling power through the larger wiring as opposed to more power going through stock wire.

Here's some pics of them on:

Hope that helps.

great info! i am thinking that i would do it with a switch separate from the regular driving lights. esp with a setup like that, i would have people flashing me constantly if i had a rack like that or if i had an additional 2 fogs on all the time.

I get flashed easily now, my lights are right at eye level on cars with the lift and such. i love when they flash me though, i light them up like a christmas tree when i pull the lever in. hahahaha it looks like its day time inside the car

I would run a solenoid with the main wires attached to it, then run a hot wire into the cab for the switch and trigger it that way.
