Default Nite Shade black spraypaint on chrome wheels

Hi guys,

Just bought and 08' H3 Black/Black Luxury with Navi and Chrome package last week. The previous owner had applied what it looks like nite shade spray paint onto the chrome wheels. I see what they were trying to do however the paint is starting to chip off and it doesn't look good. What is the safest way to remove this paint? I was told acetone would do the job but wanted to make sure with you guys. Also the middle cap is made of plastic and I am sure it would just ruin it with any paint thinner. Your input is greatly apprecaited. Thanks

Phil

Nightshade also includes clear coat as your second topcoat so acetone will not remove it you can go to autozone and get a clearcoat remover that should help you out but it will also remove any factory clear that was on wheels you will just have to respray with new clear to keep them looking good

in my experience of spray painting rims, and removing it. I use break cleaner and a plastic scrapper. let it sit for a little it should start to wrinkle once it does use the scrapper. oh make sure use a lot of paper towels, and plastic trash bags.
