New tire help!?!?
 

06 H3 with off road package (285/75/16). Have the original Bridgestone Duelers on it currently with 57,000 miles. Narrowed it down to four brands, please let me know your opinions!
I live in Ohio, so winters can get pretty bad, a long with rain and hydroplaning. Do mostly highway driving, very little light off-road.

- Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor
- Nitto Terra Grappler
- Kumho Road Venture SAT KL61

I currently have the 285's on mine as well. But, my next are going to be the 315's Wrangler Duratracs. Have heard nothing but good things about me. Have an awesome looking tread, but are an all terrain tire.

I've run the Terra Grapplers 315/75r16 out here in CT and liked them, great for all conditions other than thick mud. I've heard great things about the General Grabbers, but nothing about the others, if you have a lot of commuting and are concerned about the snow than stick w/ the size you have, don't up the width, skinnier tires in snow are the way to go...

I have the 285x75x16 GoodYear Duratracs. Mountain Snow rated. Outstanding in snow. Rated a 10 (in snow) by HummerGuy.net . I've run them 2 years in everything from sand (Dunes), mud, rocks and snow. Highway get 16mpg @ 75mph with the AC on. On road I run 45 psi, offroad 20psi. 3 ply sidewalls on the E rated tire.

Made in the USA Coopers and Mickey Thompsons should be considered.

I just put those kumho's on mine. 285/75/16. I live in sunny Florida but we do get a LOT of rain. So far no complaints! I do like the look of the M/T's and Nitto's though.

I put the Duratrac 285/75R16's on my H3. Great on road traction & handling, outstanding off road, only a low hum relative to the OEM tires. The only real downside is that they cost me about 1MPG. Haven't driven them in snow yet - Atlanta - but reports on snow performance are very good.

Although they aren't on your list, I have the Mickey Thompson ATZ's and love them. A functional tire for the mixed driving I do. I can't report on them in snow but pretty sure they will be awesome! Not to mention MT guarentees they balance with miminal weight or they are warrantied, no questions. I love the look as well.
