Default New Stereo

My wife bought me a new stereo for Christmas. A Kenwood DNX5140. It has Bluetooth capablities if I purchase the module. Does anyone know if the existing Bluetooth in the truck will still work without the orginal stereo?

Default bluetooth

I installed my avic z1 out of my previous h3 into my new h3t and I can use either bluetooth. The gm or avic.

I just put in a Kenwood DDX514 in mine. The bluetooth does work if you get the interface that maintains Onstar functions. The interface I bought is the GMOS-01. I don't have the monsoon system, just the base radio. With this interface, bluetooth works just like it did with the factory base radio.

But, I went ahead and ordered the bluetooth option for the radio. With Kenwood's setup, you can dial from the radio and store your address book. I'm hoping the sound quality is better than the factory setup. I can hear my callers fine on the factory setup, it's just those on the other end complain they can't hear/understand me. We'll see....

Should be getting the mounting hardware, bluetooth, xm kit, and ipod adapter tomorrow. They were backordered on the nav hardware so I'll have to wait until early January to get that.

Thanks for the replies. I will be getting it installed on Jan 7th. I ended up adding the back up camera and bluetooth module as well. I did make the mistake of taking my son with me and I know have a Sub going in with a 300 watt amp. Should sound good when it's all done. I will post pictures when it's all done. Thanks again.

The install went great. The bluetooth works the same as it did with the stock unit. I am impressed with the clarity of the back up camera. The only issue was that mine is a manual transmission so it was a bit different than an automatic to hook up. I needed a separte power from the fuse panel. I wanted to install a sub at the same time but I could not find anything that would fit. The system works really well. I will post pictures in the next day or so.

Curious as to where you mounted the back up camera? I just put in a Pioneer Avic X710BT and have the option of adding a rear camera. I was going to use a license plate frame mount but then realized the license plate is mounted to the far left so that wouldn't work. So where did you mount your's and do you have any pictures of it? Thanks in advance.
