So i have a 2007 h3 WITH THE 6 CD changer. Want to have a new stereo put it with MP3/Bluetooth capability. I know there is already a sub in the back but looking for guidance for a new stereo from someone who has already been down this road...thanks !!

I would like answers to the same questions. I bought my wife an '06 several years ago, now since it is getting a little long in the tooth i was going to buy her something new but she loves her H3 and nothing else appealed to her. So instead of a new truck, i am going to put the $ towards updating her old one. Would like to get her a bluetooth option on her stereo for cell sync and streaming music & calls and i am looking to finally put in a remote start (think viper is the way to go?).

There are many good radios on the market. So you may get a different option from each reply. I have owned an 06 H3 and currently a 07 H3. I have used Pioneer for many years and have had no problems. I use the single din mount radio with the flip up face and have Navigation. I use the bottom din for a VHF - UHF two way radio. Currently there are the AVH-770BT for a single din mount. Also the AVH-400NEX or the AVIC-8100NEX. You will need a "double-din radio dash kit for an H3" to mount the radio. Also a GMOS-04 wiring adapter for the amplified or Bose system or, the GMOS-01 for the non amplified Radio you are replacing. The wires from the new radio to the GMOS adapters will need to be spliced together per the instructions in the GMOS kit. Pretty simple and most wire are color for color. then the GMOS adapter will plug into the factory Radio harness, no problem. Not a bad undertaking at all.

Here is a link to my H3 build:

Hey, thought I would chime in here too. I was scared but actually got surprised. I have the 06 lux as well with the six disc monsoon. The CD function **** the bed so I looked. I wanted the same options but WiFi and touchscreen as well as I had seen Android head units before. I went on eBay and looked. Well she was awesome for Christmas and bought me a touchscreen Android deck with WiFi built in, navigation and antenna, 3g access if you buy the dongle, Bluetooth and a backup camera. The trim kit and OnStar adaptor wiring harness and antenna adaptor.
It is an unbranded model so I was nervous. But after a painful Christmas day I have a flawlessly working deck that I can download apps and games and whatever I want. Also it has a USB and iPod cord I ran into the glove box. Hookups for multi cameras and aux inputs and out as well as other speaker and sub and such hookups.
I looked and a stereo with almost all the options was over 700 bucks. She got it for 330 and the trim kit and adaptors were 150. This is all Canadian prices so American was 230 plus shipping, and 120. Pretty cheap I thought.
Good luck and happy hummin!!

This is the one she got me, but there are a few others the same size and specs around the same price. But if I had it to do again I would probably get a 7 inch not a 6.2 is what I think this one is. You need the wiring harness kit and dash trim as well. Pretty simple to hook up. Solder ends to harness and plug it in.

If this doesn't work go to eBay look up member eyedeal and look for a touchscreen Android deck with an arrow looking shape on the right hand side of the head unit.

I swapped mine out when I first got my H3 from stock. I bought the double din dash kit and wiring harness. For some reason the wiring harness didn't work and the install shop used a PAC instead which works but the OnStar stopped working (which doesn't bother me).

I installed a Pioneer App Radio 2 double din nav smart stereo. I have an Alpine 4 channel amp for the fronts (I swapped for Infinity separates) and rears and a JL sub amp and JL Stealthbox (I added the Monsoon sub trim panel which I bought via here) for the bass. It's crisp, bight, clear and can pound pretty hard.

You can basically use any modern aftermarket head unit - if you have the free cash I would def get nav and actually get as nice as you can (within reason). It's actually pretty painless - then again I just whipped out a credit card and let the pros work their magic.
