New Owner - 2002 H1 - Looking for recommendations for upgrades

I just purchased a 2002 H1 open top with 9000 miles on it. Looking for recommendations for possible upgrades (programmer, exhaust, ect). Also, are there any aftermarket wheels that will allow me to keep the CTIS ? I'm looking for black wheels. Thanks for any replies.

There are some aftermarket wheels that support the CTIS system. Not sure about black but there are aftermarket wheels that do work with CTIS. I have never looked into them but some of the dealers like Cerritos Hummer, in Cerritos CA., used to sell a bunch of them. I know used dealers like DC Motors put a lot on their reasle trucks. I have never looked into them so I don't know brands, etc. I have looked into some of the chip/flash performance upgrades and probably the best H1 mechanic in the country recommended against them. This guy is big into performance H1s so I have not done that either. There are probably some guys on here that have that can chime in. RapTorq, Predator and possibly PCM4Less could probably help you.

Do you have a set of the 2006 H1 wheels ?

Sorry for my delay, I thought I had the email notifications setup.

I have a spare set of the Hutchinson 2 piece wheels like the Alpha wheels except they are all polished ( 2004 ) I use them as spares and may put them on the 97.

Those are basically what I want but the dark grey version/black. I guess I'll keep hunting.

If you find the polished 2004 Hutchinson wheels the only difference is the powdercoating in the center of the wheel. If it says Alpha you will pay more. You might be able to find the polished wheels and have them powdercoated for far cheaper than a set of Alpha wheels. The list for over $2,100.00 each without the CTIS line or center cap. I got mine for $2,300.00 for a set of four including the CTIS, center cap, GSA tires with 30% tread left and shipping. Keep looking and the deal you want will happen. Just be patient. I am still looking for a spare set of the Alpha wheels. The last few sets I have seen sell have been in the $4,500.00 range.

Travis now sells them:

I think Blair Outland has them too, a bit cheaper:
http://www.usedh1.com/live/template....&forsaleid=235

I don't know where Blair gets his but me thinks Travis gets them direct from Hutchinson (I bet they shat a runflat when they found out what dealers were charging for their rims). You can also powder-coat the ones you have. If you just want the beadlock for wheeling, you can save a ton of $$ and get the steel military ones for under $1k a set of 5. If you just like the look, maybe stick with the one-piece alloys so any tire shop can deal with them.
