Hello, all!

My wife, Carole, and I took delivery of our new 2008 H3 Alpha yesterday - coincidentally 6 years to the day I took delivery of my 2002 Corvette back on October 29, 2001.

After comparing pretty much everything out there, we finally decided on the H3. We looked at the Tourage, the FJ Cruiser, the Grand Cherokee SRT8, the Wrangler Unlimited and several others. The H3 seemed to be the most capable and best value for the price as well as one of the coolest-looking SUV's out there. And it's relatively uncommon and adds some novelty to the owership too.

It's a black H3 Alpha with the Morocco interior. I outfitted it with the off road package, trailering equipment, sunroof, rear vision camera, navigation system, chrome assist step bars, chrome roof cross bars, chrome gas cap, floor and cargo mats, off road grill lights, window deflectors and a few other odds and ends. Ken, my salesman, was jokingly upset because I requested delivery of the vehicle unwashed and sans the dealership sticker as I always do to prevent swirl marks from improper washing. Important, particularly with black paint. The dealership manager said it was a shame it was dirty as it was the nicest H3 they'd sold to date, being optioned to the max.

Anyway, Carole and I had just returned from an overnighter to Bowling Green to visit the Corvette Museum and go through the factory tour when we received the call from Ken that our H3 was ready. We drove there and took delivery shortly after. This was easily the most pleasant vehicle purchase experience I've ever had. Bachman Hummer in Louisville is a class act. Carole and I were treated almost like family.

A couple of pics of Carole and I taking delivery and a shot of the H3 nesting with it's new garage-mates.

Welcome to our forum! I love your garage. Very clean and organised it is.Is your flooring made up of some kind of tiles? I would love that in mine.

Thanks, doc. You're right - more garage space is a top priority but will have to wait 'til we build the next house.

HummerGuy - those are Racedeck snap-together polypropylene tiles. I ordered mine for a steep dsicount from a Corvette Forum member who sells the line. Pricey, but very easy to install and you can take them with you if you move and so desire.
