new h2 owner from kentucky

hey gang. bought a 2003 h2 a few months back. black, 86k miles, and very clean. have been lurking and learning over the past few months. have had and am having a few minor issues with the ride, but really like it none the less. many thanks to those providing maintenance advice. it’s helped this new h2 owner as well.

as you can see, the pic is from the ad from the time that i bought the h2 about three or four months ago. don’t have any that are more recent, but it hasn’t change much. thanks to the powers that be for a great web site.

Problems

Transfer case chain stretching is a problem. The bearings will go out and if under a load the chain will bust and you'll be left with a broken transfer case. If you start hearing a clanking noise when going up hill or accelerating chances are your chain needs replaced. That's the only issue I had with my 2005 h2 sut.

GM must love those big ass chains. I remember rebuilding the transfer case in my 77 silverado I had in high school and the chain looks the exact same. Expensive bastards also.

I have an extra one that's in good shape lol
