Default new H1 owner , but how do i get it in a container ??!!!

Hi

its been a long time since i been on this forum , i have an H2 at the time i registered.

but now i have purchased a H1 hummer , the ultimate vehicle !!!

at the moment its parked in the states , waiting to get loaded in a container and shipped to the UAE.

i never knew that the beast will be wider than the container , they apparently have to remove the door mounted side mirrors.

the quesiton is how could they remove the side mounted mirrors ? they seem to be attached to the top hinge of the door .

can you please assist me with instructions so i can foward it to my shipper on how to remove the side mirrors without damaging them ??

otherwise i have to tell them to chainsaw it off

thanks in advance ,

i will post some pictures when it arrives here ))

the mirrors will come right off and there will be a small connector to unplug the wiring harness. They are not the same screws that hold the doors on so no worries.

I believe container doors are 92" so without the mirrors the truck will fit with room to spare. You'll have to let me know how it goes and approx prices...a while back a few fellow wheelers and I have been wanting to ship our trucks over the pond for an adventure.

thanks Ron

i fowarded this information to my shipper , price for shipping was very reasonable , from hawaii to UAE only about $4300/- !!!

you guys should come over to the UAE with those beasts and jump over some sand dunes and chase camels

Thanks but we can do that at Pismo, in the Mojave or Death Valley, all only hours from us. Congrats on the H1.

3 screws hold the mirrors on. Mine had to be removed when the truck was shipped too.

hi all , sorry for delay
i have some good news , hummer will be arriving in UAE on the 15th of June , by that time ill take some pictures of it and post it up.

i would like to know also on which parts i should start stacking up on?
these cars are not to comon in the UAE so parts will be very hard to get in local market.

its a 96 hummer , engine is a gas version, it has some cam upgrades and engine tune , the car is perfectly good , CTIS and all are ok as far as the seller told me

Half shafts, tie rods, tie rod ends, radius rods, pitman and idler arm, replacement running and marker lights, actuators for the door locks, wiper blades. Most of the above is more likely to be problematic if you are going to offroad the truck regularly.
