New Exhaust!!

1 Attachment(s)
So after two different exhaust setups i finally decided to go with just a muffler delete and a 3" custom Y-pipe with dual 4" tips. Luckily my neighbor owns a custom exhaust shop so he helped me out with different setups till we finally found something i liked. The magnaflow in my opinion was just two quiet and tinny and the flowmaster 40 series sounded like crap, and he had done a couple colorado's with the 3.7l and he found they sound best with just the resonator so thats what we went with and i absolutely love it. Sounds almost like an infiniti fx35 with a little bit more growl. So i suggest if your looking for a cheap way to make the exhaust look and sound way better go with the muffler delete and Y-pipe cost me $250 with the tips.

What about * DRONE * ?!?!?!?

Drone can kill your hearing over time.

Mine's an Alpha V8. Was thinking of Magnaflow .... ?

Maybe I should do the same, straight pipes and remove muffler.

I'm afraid I'm gonna be to loud, wake the neighbors, drone, etc ....

Nice Pics -- Looks like a real clean install.

Practically no drone..at 65 on the highway it's almost silent but when you get on it sounds mean for a 5cyl... I don't know what it'd sound like for the 5.3 tho...I'd ask a couple exhaust shops they know best and good shops can make a custom setup setup to eliminate drone. At least that's what my guy said

How about a you-tube clip of it at idle, partial throttle, and acceleration??

Not planning on wheeling it, are you.

It's raining here pretty bad but ill definitely get a YouTube clip of it tomorrow when it's nice out...Doc Olds - I don't plan on any extreme wheeling but maybe here and there once I get it leveled and the bilsteins installed, do you think the tips would give me problems?

Nice look. I'd like to hear what it sounds like.

I'm still playing around with our exhaust. Straight pipe with glass packs right now. Sounded awesome on a Ford Ranger I had with headers, but not the greatest on our H3. Still deciding on what to do next. If you are just going to be doing light off roading shouldn't be too much of a problem, but they are at an angle right behind the tires. Any kind of climbing may be a problem too. If you're just riding trails and easy stuff should be fine. On my off road vehicles my pipes go straight out the back, no bends, and as high up as I can get them.
