New CD Player, but same XM radio ID#?
 

The Hummer dealer said they needed to replace my 6-CD Player with a new one. I showed them a fix for the problem I was having:

The fixrequires the CD player firmware be updated. The dealer said my CD player had other issues and that is why they had to replace the unit with a new one. (Lots more $$$.) However, the radio still has the same XM radio ID#.

Is the XM radio module separate from the CD player and that is why the ID# is the same? Or did the dealer pull a fast one on me?

The XM reciever is a seperate module.
