New Air Horn

Screw train horns, they are expensive, big and take tons of air. I just installed a fire truck horn and it is the BEST!
I highly suggest you get one. It fits perfect between the T-Bar and frame rail. Completely out of sight and SO LOUD!!!!!!!

Definately the kind of juice the H3 was missing! :D

..in sort of a act now, ask later... anybody know if there are laws on how loud your horn can be?

I think they are pretty close. If I remember, they are rated the same decibels but who knows how they got those numbers. The plastic ones at Pep Boys say 152db but no trains are supposed to have louder than a 110db horn anymore.
The fire truck horn hurts your ears and shakes the ground. Plus its a little different as train horns are getting more popular.

DOH!
Looks like they got a swanky new website...here is the updated link!
http://www.airhornsoftexas.com/Emregency_Air_Horns.html

The air tank is in the back cargo area, the pump is attached to the fuse panel, and the horn is tucked up nicely against the frame rail under the truck right around where the T-Bar key is. Its a perfect fit...meant to be.

Can you see your onboard air pressure guage take a dip when you hit the firetruck horn? :D

Ghostrider Sep 10, 2008 03:39 PM

RE: New Air Horn

Just barely...maybe like 3-5 psi per HONK!
I could probably have a good minute long honk on a full tank with the compressor running. Usually 10-15 honks before the pressure switch kicks on to recharge. My compressor blows about 1psi per second..so it recharges to 145psi in about 35 seconds.
