Nav radio upgrade help...and a likely dumb question
Hi all...looking for some help. I am considering swapping out the Monsoon Nav radio in my 07 H3X...not because I totally want to, I actually like the system, but I need aux and camera inputs and the modules just total too much, plus the nav is having read disc error problems. I have a Pioneer Avic-3200bt I might put in if I can find a reasonably priced navigation add on unit. If not I will probably shop a new HU. Ok, to the help part...
I have read enough to thoroughly confuse myself, but I believe the best harness w/ the Monsoon amp & sub is the GMOS-04. I have seen differing opinions on this vs the PAC one due to the amp and high vs low inputs, but going by application charts and member practice it seems to be the best harness. ? Now the dumb part...does the headrest monitor/dvd system impact this? "rear entertainment" seems to mean the overhead type and I'm not sure if headrest systems are considered the same thing, which if so, would mean a different harness. I know of no function shared from HU to headrest system, but I do know there is a control box for it of some sort in the dash below the radio...came across it doing my vcim swap and tearing out the crap FM modulator...so maybe headrest sys is tied in somehow? Dont see it in the H3 Nav/Entertainment wiring section though... Has anyone with the headrest entertainment swapped HU's? and if so, what harness did you use? I dont want to order the wrong one. If I am fubar on any of this, please feel free to set me straight. Any and all input is appreciated. |
I can't help you with your question, but if you get rid of your monsoon nav, I'd be interested in it. Do you have any idea if the problem is with the NAV disc itself?
