I have a 2008 H3 and recently I have been having a problem with my car thinking the key is in the ignition in the ON position when its not. The alarm will go off shortly after because both doors are locked and the ignition is on. It will kill my battery if i don't go and put the key in and then take it back out. I have a remote starter that I had installed in December. I've only had this problem since early June. Could it be the remote starter or something else?

 

I don't want to take it to the dealership in fear that it could be the starter. However getting out of bed at 4am so my battery won't be dead when I leave for work is getting really old.
