Like it says, I'm building a new front diff for my 08.

I'm switching to a Cast Iron case, Front Elocker, and making a custom girdle cover for it.

----------------------

Here's my build.

Most of my parts are finally showing up. I'll update as I make progress....

I'm waiting on a $6 breather tube, then it's time to install!!!!

adjustments?

looks so nice and clean, now!. I never built a diff but ive read a lot about how fussy the spacing is of the ring and pinion and also the pinion bearing preload.
did they give you a procedure to set it up or is this something you do regularly? from what I read,it seems like a tedious process.
ive swapped out ford 9 inch units to get a "locker"in a previous car. very heavy!

Glad to see that you posted your diff build on this forum!!! That diif cover is F^%& mean ass hell, great damn job on it man!!! What in the world are those sliver metals in your new diff mount? If you don't mind me asking, how much was the cost for diff and all the new guts? I'm hoping to get an Alpha diff and I'm going to have to trade out the gears for 4:56 and mind as well put in a locker.

One more thing, I'm not to sure on how much you know about the colorado's front diff tube works but they have a actuator that locks the front axle when they go into 4x4. How much work would you think it would take to get their actuator to turn on when we want to run in AWD?
