Half way through and taking a break... Took me 35 mins to install the drivers side and to knock the bushing off the passenger side bolts... The biggest pain in the ass so far has been the bushings. They are mounted on the stock bolts and held in place by grooves etched into the bolt.... I had to put them in a vise and beat on them with a flat head and a rubber mallet... Other then that its been cake, jack the body up with a piece of wood and slide the pucks in... Zero problems so far... Body gap is minimal on the one side... Heres a couple pics for now, i will take some finished ones in a little while. Still need to mod the fan shroud too but shouldnt be too big of a deal.
this shows the grooves in the bolt that are ment to keep the bushing on the bolt. pita to get off...Attachment 16556
using the vice to hold the bolt while i hammered off the bushing

Heres some completed pics... currently in the process of raising the side steps... which means only two bolts holding the steps instead of 4.. i never use the steps but my wife does.. ill have to see how they hold up...

Looking really good. Can't wait to see the finished product. Your right the body gap really isn't that bad.

I bet your steps are perfect height now as they are useless at normal height. How much did the kit cost?

Would be great to get better photos after you finished...?!

Especially the gap in the front....there is the rubber seal/ lip to close the gap between bumper and grille....is it too short after....is there a replacement....?

Thanks for posting the photos and giving us some great help for our next decission...

Bought the kit on ebay from top gun customs for 199 shipped, i made an offer on there auction and they accepted it... I need to find the battery charger for my regular camera.. Heres another shot with the i phone of the front gap, the raised side step and my newly mounted hella 550s for the hell of it... i dont ever use the steps i only keep them on to stop peoples doors in the parking lot. The gap in the front is not even noticable unless your looking for it... if you dont own an h3 you would never know the truck has a body lift on it..

Good pix on the gaps.

Jake, can I ask why you did a body lift?

jake1z Feb 1, 2011 03:06 PM

Well ive been looking to upgrade my tires, i wanna go with 35s but i still want to have plenty of wheel gap. Ive put body lifts on the wrangler and dodge ram that i used to own so i knew it was pretty simple. And the price was pretty cheap at 200 bucks...

why is your exhaust exiting on the right and mine on the left ?
