My 2007 h2 making a high pitched noise while turning

i get this strange noise that is getting progressivly worse as time goes on. Sometimes only when it is cold. Sometimes i can't hear it other times i am embarrassed when other people can hear it. What should i do first. I guess that is where a boyfriend comes in handy (preferrably a hummer mechanic) lol

You just need a forum friend. Have the power steering fluid checked, or learn about that yourself. Check your owners manual. When the fluid is low it will whine as the fluid moves in the steering rack. It does not have to have a leak for some to "disappear" from heat over time. It can be caused by air getting in there when the fluid runs low. Topping it off and doing some lock to lock turns will usually work the bubbles out.
Get good quality fluid. Check the book for requirements or if in doubt pay a little more at the dealer or have them check it out. It happens!
Check back, let us know if that works.

Hunner is right. It's a fairly common occurrence with an easy, cheap fix. Welcome to the forum, HUUMHER07. And in your case, it's okay to post in pink. ;)
