My 08 H3 just started backfiring!
Hi all, I am new to the forum. I just bought a 08 H3 with 20k mi on a 3.7 5sp. I took it wheeling once and now I have a combustion event, (backfire) in the exaust when decelerating. Also have misfire counts when this occurs. I am a rental car mechanic, so I have access to GM's diagnostic software, I found a bulletin describing this condition as "normal"
Does anyone else have this problem? I don't want to waste my time if the dealer is not going to do anything. Any info is appreciated. Thanks, Jim |
Well does it sound cool? Sorry man I had to ask... at any rate it cant hurt to bring it into the dealer... play it safe rather than sorry... your the first time Ive ever heard of anything like this, so that should raise some concern. I definitely would not chalk this up to a waste of time IMO...

I wonder if that's a timing issue but that usually doesn't happen in the exhaust.

can you record it and put it up on youtube so we can hear it? I haven't seen any thread here about it

never heard of this problem, definitely not normal. i would clean the truck and take a trip to the dealer.
