muffler/water dripping
Recently I have noticed water dripping from my muffler. Not from the pipe but from the little tank like thing it is attached to. I haven’t been in rain or snow and this is California so the weather is normal temperature. I am not sure why water would be dripping from this or where it comes from. It is a pretty constant drip from the bottom edge of the little tank (I don’t know what to call this) leaving a small puddle when I stop and park.
Does anyone know why this happens or what I should do? I did a forum search and did not find anything on this question. I got the clips for my cargo net thanks to the poster who helped me. |
Condensation occurs in every exhaust system from the heated gasses flowing thru the pipe, then cooling off when you turn the engine off. The OEM muffler and resonator have holes in them to allow this moisture to escape so they do not deteriorate from the inside out.

to be safe id look at the cold water, orange tank, weekly for a while just to see if u are loosing coolant. pop the hood, sharpie mark level, look again next week, or tomorrow, b4 u start the engine.

Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate the information on this. And I did mark the orange tank and will keep an eye on it.
I have had my 2010 Alpha for two months now and this just started to drip. It has been a bit colder here than normal. I love this truck!! |
