Is modifying shift points difficult?

I want to ask about y'allsexperience with modifying shift points.

Before my H2, I've never owned an automatic transmission . . . so a year later, I still can't quite cope with it deciding when to change gears. And when the thing regularly downshifts 2 gears and then goes back to 6th, all in about2 seconds on the interstate, grrrrr.

On to the questions;
- can dealers modify the shift points? will they?
- what about using the programmers, are they pretty easy to work?

I'm fairly mechanical/techincal; but, I've never liked the idea of personally screwing around on a vehicle I depend on. Lack of patience and the fear of blowing a bunch of money on a programmer just to end up with4mpg makes me ask !

Well if you have the 6spd you have the manual **** mode. Just use that.

You could always get it tuned. I have an 08 and just got a Westers hot tune and had them move my shift points at full throttle to 5800. and 5900 in tow haul.. The tune works great and am very happy with Westers..

Just get a tuner, and start playing. It is very simple to do. I changed mine just a bit and changed the shift timing also to firm it up.
