Mine is Chinese (Mandarin) for "hero".....and I have a hero complex.

You know! I used to fight when I was a young buck, now I just train a couple of guys part-time.

 

I did Hung Gar since I was a teenager. Got my azz kicked 2 years ago by some young dude. He broke a few of my ribs. I guess that's why athletes are retired at my age.

I started in a northern style under Anthony Goh in Baltimore many many moons ago. We trained with Tai Yim, a one-time Hung Gar practitioner, very often. When I realized kung-fu was good for show, and not as effective (for me anyway) for fighting as grappling and Krav Maga, I bounced and learned those styles.
