What is a remanufactured motor? Isn't that a motor that has been driven, removed, brought back to specs, and resold? Just curious. Also before anybody goes crazy, I am seriously asking because I don't know. I just think thats what it is. Also, would that remanufactured motor be at 0 miles if you bought it?

 

I'm betting that the dealer that will take care of putting on the "remanufactured" motor, will keep the one they removed, and will do you the favor of "getting rid of it". Lol

 

The entire thing sounds "fishy" to me. At least take it to another shop and have them look at ti before you "dump" you cahs at the first place!

A 2nd opinion is never a bad thing. Heck if it was a heart transplant (kind of id for your HUMMER) you would want at least a 2nd or even a 3rd opinion.

 

Yeah..... I gave up because I felt the rest of you folks were pointing at laughing at me trying to get to the bottom of this story....

I've built/rebuilt/overhauled a little less than 1000 engines and I've never seen anything like that....

 

He could always have gone diesel, An LBZ in there and he'd never look back

 

I can't imagine just accepting that and pissing money away w/ out knowing what happened.
