Default Lost gas cap key ... ugh!

Well after a few tins and having the truck keys in my pocket I guess they have fallen out somewhere and there lost ...

Problem: only had 1 gas cap key and it was on the main set of keys!

Now thw gas cap has a number printed on it LT014 and I have seen a few H3 caps with the same LT*** and also printed on the keys .... question is, can you get the keys seperate?

I have a gas cap jiggler key for now to jiggle it off when needed, but its a pain in the *** ...

So I got 2 choices, either find a set of keys for LT014, OR jiggle this cap off again and buy a non locking gas cap .... which may be better for me coz I loose alot of **** lol

What do yas think?

I would go route of just getting a new lock core... I replaced mine a couple time now, since mud a small rocks get in there and mess up the mechanism and/or the teeth on the key...

Oops, did you mean a locking fuel door or the actually screw on cap with a lock? If the later of the two just buy a new one off ebay, theyre relatively inexpensive, no?

If you're able to 'jiggle' if off, I say just go but a new locking gas cap. I got mine (a 'Stant'), at Meijer for $10. Having a new key made from using the lock code number, at a locksmith, is probably going to cost close to that much anyway.

Dagkana, yes it's a locking gas cap not locking fuel door. I think I may go with a non locking one from eBay, they only want $26 for an OEM one ... only thing that sux about it is it's $32 to ship it to Australia lol I hate paying more for shipping then what the product costs! Especially when I see the $5 postage receipt when it turns up lol

Drtom, I been checking out some of those nice billet looking covers ... I like them alot ... is there a certain brand I should look at? Or are they all pretty much the same?

Was checking out this one:

2006-2010 HUMMER H3 Fuel Door Chrome Gas Cap Cover 19165921 GENUINE OEM GM | eBay

Broken Halo, what is Meijer? Is that like a local auto parts store in the US?

I need to find myself a US friend .... lol

Thanx for the replys guys

i got a locker that looks like that,defender i think, .
the mounting is crapo on all ive seen, 4 tiny ,TINY, screws that somehow hook it to your existing black funnel thingy. a kid could pull it off.
i used 4 self thread chrome screws thru the fender into a fiber ring i fabd,. about 2 dayz!!
not ez but if you wanna pull it you get the fender too.
ill try to find pix but that usually takes me forever
