Looking to buy an H2

I've been thinking on getting rid of my Ram 1500 and old CJ7 and combine them into an H2. Don't know anything about Hummers and would appreciate any help on what to look for while searching for a good H2. I need to stay around the $22k price range, and looking around on autotrader it looks like there are quite a few to choose from. I'm assuming towing a 25' travel trailer is not a problem for the H2s.

Any common problems to look for in them? What is considered high mileage for an H2?

Thanks in advance.

H2 is a good choice, reliability is good so mileage is not normally an issue. Just need to make sure you find one that's had all it's maintenance performed.
Older 2's, 05 and back, tended to have power mirror problems from what I've seen.
I guess around 150k-200k miles you'd be at a trans rebuild/replace but that seems about it.
If you stumble into one with air suspension you could have problems and might end up replacing an air bag, compressor or air line. They can be a PITA on the older deuces, so you might want to stay away.
Well, I'll let the other 2 drivers chime in with their wisdon......

I seem to read about alot of the earlier models having mirror issues as mentioned above along with wiper motor issues. It seems the later models have less trouble. I had an 06 before my 08 and it was pretty solid with the exception of the buttons peeling on the navi and an airbag sensor that went bad..... both were fixed under warranty.

Model year is not so important...just make sure it is in good mechanical shape. Look out for broken exhaust manifold bolts, as this was a weak point till 07 or so. Othewise, there shouldn't be major issues. The H2 didn't really change till 08, when it got a new interior and new engine. Otherwise changes were minor, like new side mirrors or an optional outside rear tire carrier starting 05. Good luck with your search.

I love my H2 but I dont think I would be buying one today if our gas continues to go up like they say. 10 mpg and $5 gas is going to suck.
