Default LED lightbar, spliced into fog lamp wiring?

Has anyone just connected their light bar into the fog lamp wiring and ran than together? It's such a pain in the ween to run wire through the firewall. Would it over heat the fuse? Turn the wires into a heating element? Mine is a 20 inch , 120 watt light

I would have no issue doing it, you need to know amp draw from light bar that is important.Check the fog lamp fuse rating in amps ad the light bar amp draw and see if you are under current amp rating. There is a safety margin when they put fuses in to keep your wires from melting, and the fuse is designed to pop well before the wiring get to this point. If you wire them together and the fuse pops during operation then you will need to run separate sources.

Sorry man, but I have to say suck it up and do it right the first time. It will take longer and be more frustrating but you won't ever have any issues down the road when it is installed and wired properly.

Run a power and ground to the light bar, use fuses, proper wire size, separate switch and a relay. I know that LEDs draw less amperage and "some" say you don't need a relay or fuse.

ez place to drill a hole in an auto is where the clutch link would have been. the fire wall is double but you will see a spot where it is single, a hole in one layer about 1 inch.
drill there with a unibit and go 1 inch for plenty of future wires, plug it with good putty or run wires thru a rubber hose. or,,,think!!
i used a hole punch for 1 inch and a good grommet and some putty.

It's hard to believe but I think a 22 inch LED light bar that's rated at 120watts pulls 10 amps. And the fog lamps must be 45 watts each. So together at 19 amps is a lot of ampage. That's like a hairdryer and a refrigerator together. So I guess I'm running an after market switch kit.

I just put a curved 30 in my grill hooked it up to the factory switch came out awesome. If I could post pics from my iPad I would throw them up.

The hummer already has the blunt cut wires under the drivers dash that lead out to the engine compartment. No need to drill any holes in the firewall. I just ordered the factory switches to add off road lights to mine. Any switch will do and any aftermarket relay will work in the engine compartment if you don't want to use the factory switch. I'm off shore right now but will do a step by step how to when I get back in.

Here is a link http://schwarttzy.com/wp-content/upl...3-Lighting.pdf with the wiring info.

It makes sense that the wiring would be there as it probably costs more money to omit it and hve multiple types of wire looms. So is there a write up here describing said wires?

These are the wires for the AUX lighting that are unused. Look under the driver side dash.
