Largest size tires for H3?

2007 H3, adventure package, not sure how to tell though. It has the optional locking differential, chrome wheels and largers tires, does that mean adventure package? Looking for the widest tire I can get on stock wheels. Height doesn't really matter although I dont' mind going taller to get wider if I have too.

Thanks
David

From your description, it is an Adventure. 315/75-16's are the largest you can go with without any mods.

David, Adventure/Off-Road Suspension/Lux/Base it doesn't matter. If you want to keep the stock rims and put the "widest" tire poss on that rim I would suggest what Doc Olds did.

He wanted a more aggressive tread wider than the stock Adventure/Off-Road Suspension Duelers. He went with Mickey Thompson MTZs 305/70R16 which are 33x12.50R16 ... that's 33.1" tall and about 1" wider than stock (won't throw the speedo/trans/mpg or ECM off). I have wheeled with him on several ocasions and the there have only been a handfull of times where his tires haven't got him thru/over/around where my 315/75R16s MTZs have. I still like the look of the 315s but if you want a wider not taller tire on the stock rim with no negative effects this is the way to go.

Thanks but....

Thanks for your help guys. I really appreciate it. If I went with the 315/75 do you think it would have a negative effect on my transmission or ECM?

You have a 3.7 I5, you won't "hurt" the trans but it will "hunt" for the right gear a lot more and your speedo will be off. Your MPGs will suffer too. Like I said before, I love the look and offroad performance of the 315s. If you are going to take your RIG offroad and need the extra 3/4" (most 315s are 34.5" tall) I would say go for it. Get the PCM tune and an intake and your power loss will be minimal.

Do a search for 315s, PCM Tune and Air Doc intake. There are tons of threads on these subjects.
