If GM drops hummer or sold will prices on used lots drop?
In other words should I buy now or after possible big news? I am an analyst in insurance industry, and I believe GM will sell, but then again Hummers are Iconic!!!!

Well if you feel that the economy is going to stay on a steady decline into the summer and no one will want an SUV in the summer, then you should wait.

More than likely, Hummer is a profitable division of the big GM. Selling it off affords them the cash flow to put into other ventures. If Hummer gets purchased, it will more than likely continue on a path of growth and new offerings(like the H3T). I don't see how new ownership would effect pricing, supply and demand will dictate that.

Prices on used lots will only drop if the price of gas goes back over $4/gallon, which it won't, at least for a long time. People were trading in SUV's over the summer because it was upwards of $100 to fill 'em up. Once gas came down, November sales for SUV's started back up, and so did the prices. That trend will continue, especially now that the O is going after the automakers the increase fuel economy. Again, something else to drive up the prices of SUV's. The market dictates demand, not the gub-mint. If everyone drives a Prius, you'll have to pry the keys to my H3 from my cold, dead hands.
They are iconic, people just stare!!
