I have a newbie quick question....

My "new to me" '06 H3 has a plastic type of runner under the doors on both sides. Is this factory on all H3's or was it added ? It does have mudguards on it also, were they added together ?

Questions Questions

Also, I'm trying to get the service data from my dealer. I'm curious how often the previous owner changed the oil etc....And my used car dealer whom I bought it from said they won't give it up

Any suggestions ?
Thanks,
Mark

There is black plastic trim under the doors standard - does yours look different than other H3s? Do you have pics?

Mud-guards are installed after the vehicle is built by the dealer - they're pretty handy to avoid the huge rooster-tail effect on the side of your truck from a tiny mud puddle.

The previous records is a privacy issue -- while most people wouldn't care if the next owner knew when they had it serviced and what for, it is a private transaction between them and the dealer, and the dealer can't give it out. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it as long as the vehicle has been inspected and the oil changed recently.

Depending on the state, you are entitled to the previous owners name and contact information when purchasing a used car. I'd make darn sure that the car was not repo'd or an otherwise forced sale before you contact them though...

When you bought the car did you get a carfax report or something similar? It won't show service records, but it will show if it was a lemon, previous owner, etc...

Thanks for the responses,

The car was a 3 year lease which just expired. It went to the auction and the used car dealer bought it, and I bought it off him. I do have a copy of the original title, it was a one owner, but the person who signed it off wrote her name in such "chicken-scratch" it was illegible. The CARFAX also proved it out to be a lease vehicle. I wonder if they make people service lease vehicles ? that would be a comforting thought....

I know she's got mud-mats for it because the original are perfect and the truck has 38k miles on it. Nobody could keep them this nice...even me !!!

Who works at a dealership that can call and get the records for me

Regular HUMMER service work wouldn't show on a national database like Lexus or Ford.

If there was anything wrong at the lease termination, they would have nailed them for extra charges.

Again, from the sounds of it, you have very little to worry about -- start enjoying your HUMMER instead of worrying about it. ;)
