My wife has decided she gets to drive to work, I have to drive the Focus :-(

She has the shorter commute so it makes sense gas budget wise.

I do get to drive it off-road. She LOVES the Hummer when I took her to look at it. Placed a deposit and should have my Frontier so.d tommorow night.

OK, questions....

It has some generic road style AT tires 285/75R16. I am thinking of getting z second set of off-road tires for when go on lffroad trips. If I went 315/75R16 will the 285 spare be OK to use?

Next, what skid plates are available to protect the belly from rocks?

 

Oh, I know that one. NO, it is not okay to use a 285 spare with 315's.

OEM under body protection.

 

Then I will stick with 285's....

 

Or you could go with 305/70/16.
They are as wide as a 315 but have the diameter of a 285.
The spare needs to be the same diameter as the rest of the tires.

 

I keep getting face palms from Jeepsters on other forums.

Put on your big boy pants and tell the wife......Naw! Hummer - cool. Focus - not so much.

 

do the smart thing and buy another H3 and then you have one for each of you. that is what we did
