Saw that a while ago. Hate the back, it makes it look like a azteck.

You think they would find a better place for the fuel cell.

The Hindenburg but now with wheels ... I would NOT want to be rear ended with that time bomb in the trunk LOL!

Actually Nick...Unless we are talking fusion, hydrogen isn't all that bad....

Clarifying the Misnomers:
1. The Hindenburg mainly burnt up so rapidly because of the materials and paint on the skin of the Zeppelin.

2. Hydrogen burns at such a low temperature that it won't burn human flesh in open atmosphere.

If a canister of hydrogen was in an accident as you eluded to...the probability of surviving it without a major explosive event is 10 times more likely than with a trunk full of gasoline...being as the hydrogen would flash instantly to a vapor (if it was storedin liquid form) and float quickly away from any ignition sources as it is lighter than air (refer to the Hindenburg)..in fact, it disperses so rapidly, that it can't sustain combustion for very long..But even if it did burn at an explosive rate, it's likely it won't burn hot enough to cause 3rd degree burns.

This info comes from the pioneers in Hydrogen fuel cell technology...The Swedish;)

I know Den, I'm just going along with the "story" of the Hindenburg :-) I don't recall what the chemical was called they slapped all over the skin of the HB but from what I understand it was sort of like painting the inside of a fireplace with gasoline LOL!

Good analogy...I think they used silver chromate, same stuff sparklers are made of.....Sorry, But it was a slow work day and I was being boringly intellectual:eek::D

I think you are right! Whatever it was called, once it sparked/caught on fire it wouldn't stop until it burned itself out .. I guess that is the point to be made on that one! :-)
