Hummer accessories
 

Wandering around the interwebz this morning and it's pretty sad how limited the accessories are these days. I was looking at tail light guards and three used to be some nice ones out there, now its down to about 2 styles of steel and 2 or 3 ABS styles. I like the rear wheels version but $400 for tail light guards is never gonna happen. I know there are boxes of this stuff sitting in various warehouses to be brought out 20 years from now. i bet you could get a better return than the stock market by buying up some of these parts. I kick myself for not jumping on some of those Hutchinsons when they were relatively cheap. Oh well. I wonder how much metal fab equipment will fit in my basment. :p

Rant off

I was actually just about to post a wanted ad on craigslist for Hummer H3 accessories. Everybody seems to be dumping their H3's at rock bottom prices since gas went up to $4/gallon and they are also selling off their aftermarket stuff before they trade them in. It's a shame but there are some great deals on this stuff.
Last year i was also able to pick up some aftermarket stuff from my local Cadillac /Hummer dealer at below cost prices. They were practically giving me Hummer accessories. A lot of it was chrome but i turned around and passed on some good deals to others while making a few bucks to pay for the stuff i wanted. :D

Sometimes, if it's a good enough deal, it's worth it to pick up the chrome and scuff and bed line it. I got a great deal on some OEM roof racks on Craigslist that were 'Bright Aluminum', and did this. Now I've got some great looking black racks.:D

mthood I think it may have been something you picked up form that dealer last year that kind of got me thinking of this. I remember someone picked up some side marker light guards that were really nice, 2 or 3 thick bars.

When I bought my 3 it seemed like a lot of people were always selling accessories before turning in for lease etc. Around here it seems to be fewer and farther between.

On the flip side, its nice to see CB and Tainter and a few others coming up with some stuff.

I think that was me. Are these the ones? i got a smoking deal from the dealer. They retail for $180, i think i paid like $50. He also unloaded some chrome stuff to me which i turned over for a few bucks to pay for the marker bezels :D

Yup those are the ones i was thinking of. They look great.
