Hummer @ Dallas Auto Show—Not impressed

Went to the show this afternoon and was pretty disappointed by
what I saw. To be fair, I wasn’t really sure what to expect from
these corporate guys, but it seems to me that the brand would have
been better served by the local dealers. Lord knows Sewell and Classic
Hummer’s show rooms and front displays out shine what Hummer corporate
put together.

Maybe 8 or 9 vehicles total. No new H2 interiors, no new H3 door panels, no new
colors, no new vehicles….period….they all appeared to be ‘06’s. None of the H3’s
even had the new door panels. Some of the H2’s were less than pristine……

All of the reps (at least the three I talked to) were from Argentina or somewhere.

One of them actually stood in front of 30 people and stated the H3 got 20 mpg.

Said none of the concepts they asked for showed up (open top, H3T, etc….)

And…

Man did the display look bare with no H1’s in sight…..Maybe that was it…….

I guess I was expecting more than I should have….

Here was the one bright spot…..

I don't feel so bad now that I did not get to go to the one in Pittsburgh. One of the ramps fell in and they cancelled it.

Oh well, it was a nice afternoon anyway.....Got to sit in a Viper and a 130 grand Mercedes.

Ass'ed the drivers seat of a new 4 door Jeep (made me really appreciate my H3)

Oogled the few concepts that were actually on site.

Got to see a couple of Shelby Cobras and a few exotics. The new Audi super car is one bad MoFo.

not much point in bringing a discontinued vehicle to an auto show, unless you're trying to sell the floor model. jmo

It's going to be difficult for me to not want to trade in my H3 for one of these.;)

Mr. Bus: I agree on the discontinued model and understood why it wasnt there......But, man it
just didnt seem right wihtout the "Old Man" there......Shure would have been a good venue to
show the CNN Hummer....To generate some buzz.....I guess everything just seemed so plain.
Maybe that is part of what made the display appear somewhat lacking.........

Mr. Dogg: A person nearly had to have hip waders to make it through the drool surrounding that Camarro.

"Pricing has not been set, but it will be affordable for the average man".......Yeah, right.....

That's the chick that was saying the H3 got 20 mpg.

I sure hope someone else who attended, posts their thoughts and impressions....I'd like to
know if it was just me being to damn picky or if it really was less than what one should expect from Hummer.

I'd love to know what the local dealers thought of it.

Anyone else make it to the show?

If so, what were your impressions?

Hummer <space> Guy, you got any thoughts on the display, or can you say?

BTW: Nice writeup on the Barnwell Mountain run.....Did you go to the Long Ranch thing this weekend?
