Ok, I'll bite. What does that mean? I don't mean to be a smartass, I really don't understand this. My son had a 4WD Explorer a few years ago and was told that, in AWD mode, it was 5/95 front/rear. Assuming that was accurate, 5% is plenty to keep it going through snow. It worked just fine without locking it in 4WD, but what does 5/95 (or 40/60) mean? Is there, maybe, a website that explains this? Since I'm driving a Hummer, people just assume I'm an expert on these things. Plus, I'd really like to know for my own satisfaction.

Not being a smartass, but read the owner's manual. Seriously, I have been wheeling for years and I learned so much about my H3 by just reading the manual.

I like the all time 4WD feature. It keeps things simple and dependable.
