So what do you want? They are offering to correct the problem as I see it.

EDIT: The respray is not going to have any effect on depreciation. I won't say "many", but it's not uncommon for brand new cars to get some minor body / paint work after delivery.

Would you buy a repainted vehicle as brand new??And FYI......Repainted vehicles drastically lose their value!! On this planet anyways...

Maybe yes, maybe no. There are plenty of new vehicles that make it to the dealer only to have collision-paint work done before they are even sold. Ever watch them being loaded onto a semi by the drivers of the Auto-carriers? i used to work at a dealership and had veh. delivered with both doors dented and paint chipped due to the doors being slammed into the sides of the car carrier, some have worse damage. they are repaired and sold as new with no depreciation, however i would be as pissed off as you are if it was mine.

Not the best service but if it is that bad how did you not notice it before you bought the truck? Let them fix it as they want. Keep making them fix it until you are happy. I had the same thing happen on a new Corvette. They did finally get it right. Don't forget you are dealing with a broke corporation owned by an even more destitute government.

Great point, you also need to become GM's biggest pest until you get satisfaction!

I had a brand new Pontiac that had a huge scratch in the door when I went to pick it up...they tried to buff it, but burnt the paint. They had to end up painting the whole door, and you could never tell they did.
I would let them repaint it, and then go from there....and trust me the only way it would de-valuate your vehicle, is if it's in an accident. A simple respray isn't going to change the resale of your truck.

What color did you get anyways?

DAGKANA Sep 7, 2009 11:17 AM

Well I would be pretty ripped too if I were you... keep on them and try to get the best outcome possible, please don't let it be a black eye to your Hummer. You mentioned CT pm where you are I'd like to take a look at your rig.

i Paid $600 for my new H3 to have paint protection put on, 5 years garanteed permanent wax so its always shiny, as they told me. what i received was the product of them not doing it and cleaning the car properly beforehand so now i have water droplet marks on my car that are permanently sealed on for 5 years..... fail.

and there are all these other random markings i dont know wtf they are.

Dang. Is there any way you can post pictures of the damage/unpainted areas? Sounds terrible.

Funny, I finally got around to buffing out all the scratches on my H3T that were inflicted a couple of weeks ago while off-roading with Dagkana. I found three runs in the paint. Pretty ****ty if you ask me.

What dealership in CT are you dealing with?

Dan,

Here's the damage from the trip.

1. Scratches in all doors and roof. (all but two buffed out)
2. Passenger side rear wheel jacked up. (swapped it out with spare)
3. Gouge in front passenger tire. (have to buy a new tire)
4. Bent driver side leaf spring bracket. (out of sight, doesn't seem to affect anything)

On the bright side at least I made it out in better shape than you did on your June trip!

I guess it's broken-in now. :) The old lady was pissed when she saw the aftermath. "1200 miles on it and...blah..blah"
