Hood Vent Cover Question
Just got a beautiful 2008 H3 Alpha.
I was attempting to install the chrome hood vent cover and realized that my Hummer has had the recall done. The OEM vents have been epoxied on. Are there any other options to put an after market cover on? Thanks |
I've seen kits that are chrome with 3M tape on them that go on the existing cover.
You should post up some pics, so we can see your truck. You never know, you may already have enough chrome and this may be unnecessary. You don't want to have too high of a chrome balance or it throws off your aerodynamics and reduces your MPG.;) |
What was the recal? I have a 2007 H3 Tactical
|
Yeah that glue on there is from Another planet, it was very hard to take the black vent off. I also purchased one of those Chrome covers, but you'll have to apply some more 3M tape for some reason mine kept on peeling off.

The dealer replaced mine after the recall was done. They just got one corner up and kept working their way around and it came off in one piece.

The hood louver recall is for all models of H3.
Faulty clips, states if may become detatched and fly off. |

Hood Vent
If your hood vent comes off without any struggle then it doesn't have the recall. If it's a B!@#$ to take off then that means they glued it down and you're good to go. That glue is like concrete that hood vent is not coming off.
