Help: H2 noise in reverse

Anyone know what this could be? It doesn't occur all the time but about 75% of the time when I put my H2 in reverse it kind of makes a whine sound. Never happens in drive. I think I may try and drift it back in neutral to see if it makes the same noise. Also my 4x4 neutral light turns on red occasionally. Less frequently than the noise. All I do is hit the 4x4 awd button and it goes away. I've also tested to make sure 4hi and lo work and they still do. suggestions anyone?

2003 H2 SUV (59k miles)

Thanks in advanced,
Adam

I've replace my motor in the transfer case when that started happening, I forget the name of it but it was about 140 dollars and took me about five minutes to change it. I had a friend diagnose it for me because my light was doing the same thing. He told me that it could be one of two things, the motor or the switch itself so I started with the motor cause I could return it if it didn't fix it.

No, just noticed the red light blinking on the module and It felt like it was in 2 wheel drive. I wasn't getting any power to the front tires.
