Our Nitto Trail Grapplers are awesome. Not noisy, great ride and tough looking. I won't be replacing them with anything other than Nitto's.

I'm very curious as to what your deciding factors in narrowing your choices down to those 2 tires?

There are plenty of other tire brands and tire models out there that are lighter than the heavy azz Toyo M/Ts (huge mileage hit with even 33" Toyo tires with an I5) and have better all around performance OnRoad & OffRoad than the General Grabbers (lack of tread siping). Not that it matters to you, but "Made in the USA" might be nice also.

You may want to do yourself a favor and ask what you are going to be using your rig for and check out some other tire brands and tire models.

Cooper- STT
Goodyear - DuraTrac or MT/R w/Kevlar
Mickey Thompson - ATZ or MTZ
BF Goodrich - Radial T/A KO or KM2

Plus there is no such thing as a "cheap beadlock". There are cheap fake (faux) beadlocks.

I run Goodyear Duratracs. They are a good all around tire, quiet on the street and good for rain, mud and snow.
They have been great off road, over rocks and loose gravel.
Plus they are one of the lighter weight tires for it's size.

I've had Firestone Destination M/T's on my old Tahoe, and now on my Hummer. Made in Canada. 10-plys. DEEP Lugs. Great Off-road tire, they also wear like iron as long as you keep them rotated. They aren't siped so they are only ok in the rain. However in sand, deep snow, mud they are great. You can also get them studded for ice if you want. It's all about what you want your tire to do for you. Once you decide on that, you can decide which tire best suits your needs.

Not sure who you directed this question to, but I will chime in that to my knowledge the Firestone Destination MT's have never been recalled.

285/75R16 is what I had on both the Tahoe and the H3. Leaves room in the wheelwells for flex, but you can get 305's in there which are just a little wider. It all depends on what you want the tire to do for you. You can go taller too if you really want to stuff em in there.
