That is pure crazy-azz-sh**! I've seen video of H3's and Heeps going down Lions Back...I wouldn't even think about walking down it, let alone driving down it.

I saw a TV show a few years back. It featured a video clip of a woman driving a large Ford Bronco down this particular hill (Iimmediately recognized this hill in the photo from that tv show). The brakes completely failed at the very top, andthe vehicle immediately began racing down the incline at a high rate of speed, which caused the vehicle's front end to start bouncing wildly. Steering control was soon compeltely lost due to the bouncing front end and the vehicle went over the side and nose-dived right onto the hardpack like a lawn dart. It was gruesome to see a vehicle move that way.

It was utterly amazing that woman was able to keep that vehicle on track most of the way down that hill. You should have seen how badly that thing was bouncing around and how fast it was going. Shedid a fantasticjob of keeping that thing on track most of the way down, and when the vehicle went over the side, it was about 2/3 of the way down. When it hit, it was fast, hard and a jolting sudden stop.

Damn scary. They were severely injured, but they survived and were being interviewed as they played the clip on TV. Can't remembr the TV show, I think I was channel surfing. But it was fastinating.

there are 2 crosses at the base of Lion's Back, and from info our guide gave us, both of those fatal drops involved alcohol impairment.

that was some incredible driving, being able to control it most of the way down the top of the ridge. looked like a chevy, which must explain why they survived . . . .

That group is from Elcova. Another group of us, including those two H3's, went last August. Here's the video of the group shortbus mentioned going up LB. Link I'm in the grey H3.

There's a bunch more pics and vids on my site. We have another trip planned for April, and there's also a big group going in June.

I've heard differing stories on that. Many people say it was a suicide jump, no vehicles even involved. There is however, the carcass of an old Toyota off the right side. The guy tried turning around halfway up and fell off the side.

There was also a recent incident of a guy driving a toyota pickup off the side near the bottom and nose-diving from about 30 feet. Alcohol was definitely involved in that one.
