Default H3 Weight?

Anyone ever weigh a mostly stock 2006 H3 base model with sunroof and monsoon stereo? I have after market 17" rims and tires. Going on a little road trip tomorrow and there is a bridge with a weight limit of 2.5 tons. According to wikipedia the curb weight of an h3 is 4,600-4900 pounds. I have no where to weigh my H3 until Tuesday. I'll be crossing the bridge with a nearly full tank of fuel as well. Do I need to find a 100 pound girlfriend for tomorrow to drive the empty H3 across the bridge? The bridge was built in 1881 so I really don't want to test it.

You made my day.lol
I've removed my rear seats many years ago, to be able to load more tools in the back. I now haul an extra load capacity of 1/2 ton with my tools alone. Not good on mpg, and I don't care!

You can:

Cross the bridge with your 100lb girlfriend driving and you walk behind with your luggage,
or take out the back seats before you go,
or try off road to avoid the bridge? GL

Considering the bridge is 205 feet long and is crossing a river with high water levels going off road is not an option. Avoiding the bridge is an option but will add several hours to my trip each way. I really would like to cross the bridge. I was hoping that my H3 was closer to the 4,600 pound weight.

Is this a 1 lane bridge, with traffic lights on each end?

Single lane With no traffic lights. Apparently only one vehicle is allowed on the bridge at time. If you're following a car you have to wait for it to finish crossing before your vehicle can get on the bridge.

Cool

I’m sure if it’s rated at 2.5 tons it doesn’t mean that 5001 lbs will cause it to collapse. Be sensible. I wouldn’t take 1000 lbs of luggage but the 100 lb girlfriend thing sounds nice.

Everyone waits until a vehicle has crossed the bridge? How is the bridge regulated? Where is this bridge?

So I'm back from my trip. Crossed the bridge with no problems. Made my passengers walk across and coming back I was down two passengers, luggage and getting low on fuel. It was a little sketchy crossing. My H3 is a pavement pounder but had to cross some washouts on the trip. I bought the H3 for getting through snow, not for ravine crossing. I've never really off roaded before and quite impressed with it's capabilities. Managed to get back without any missing paint, dents or scrapes. Still going to weigh the H3 in case my vehicle is requested for another trip to pickup or deliver people. The bridge is located in Northern Ontario Canada where population density is extremely low. The bridge is regulated by the honour system. Huge fines if you "break" the bridge.

No fair! Post some pix of the bridge or at least the name of it, please.

I have never been able to post picks on this forum so there isn't any and the bridge doesn't have a name. Its in nowhere land Ontario. Ever watch Ice Road Truckers? Something like that. There is a very similar bridge much closer to home and maintained better. It's called Kissing Bridge.

It's easy to avoid and I've never crossed it. It's rated for 3 Tonnes so crossing with the H3 wouldn't be a problem.
