H3 transmission dip stick loose

Noticed my transmission fluid dipstick seems to have alot of play. Does it just kind of sit in pan or should it be rigid?

No responses, guess I need to reword question. Transmission dipstick tube moves freely from side to side and up and down. Does the tube just slide into a rubber seal at top of tranny or should it be fixed stationary? I know someone else here has checked the trans fluid lately. Really would like to know if I have a problem or is this normal play in dipstick tube?

Figured it out, there is a rubber O ring it slides into like I thought...

Checked it running in park, in neutral, as well as not running and cooled down.

Why dig up an OLD .... like SIX YEAR OLD Thread to tack on your statement???? Please discontinue that practice.
