H3 Shocks for an '08

Hey all,

I'm looking to replace my shocks again on my '08, it is just riding extremely rough lately. What shock are y'all using for mostly road travel? I very rarely take it off road. Thanks in advance.

try the OEMs. you can get them on rockauto.com for a decent price. I run the OEM Offroad shocks, and they ride real nice on the road

I just bought the Rancho RS9000XL for my 3. So far they have been nice on and off road. I have them on the stock setting too.

I'm running Foxes right now.
Had the Ranchos & just felt the bottomed out too much on rough terrain & just rode rough in general. Ended up blowing out the fronts on a rough road. Never again. The Foxes are smoother, but still slightly harsh.
My only experience with the OEMs was a very used & abused set, so I can't say how they ride compared to a new set.

Stock shocks felt all around good but I preferred the Adventure shock for a little stiffer ride. Monroe shocks are much softer than stock, would work well on a non-lifted street queen.

For duel duty I prefer the Old Man Emu shocks sold by ARB. Expensive but we'll worth it.

I put on Monroe shocks this summer on my 06 H3 and they have been great. Bought them very cheaply on amazon, I think they are one of the cheapest brand shocks with best reviews around. I have a video on the tube replacing both front and back, if you search this forum for shocks my thread should come up with the links.

I just ordered Bilstein 5100s for mine
Let's hope they ride ok

I also just put on the bilstein 5100 and like them. Its a stiff ride but in a good way. Bumps that made the truck jump before are now nicely absorbed and corners much better
