H3 front E-Locker retrofit?
 

Has any of you guys retrofit a 2009 H3 Front E-Locker into a 2008 H3 Alpha??

Can it be done without major issues??

I have the off-Road package w/factory rear E-Locker

I heard as long as the Front diff is not aluminum they are compatable by the guys here in Vegas ...

Thanks TINKED..., that is pretty much what I'm hearing as well.

My rig does have the cast iron housing so it sounds like the fit should be fine!

From what my local Hummer dealer tells me, there will be a problem with the wiring. Apparently my 2008 H3 Alpha has a different dash wiring harness & Transfer Case Control Module than a 2009 with the Front Locker.
I am thinking that I could bypass the problem by wiring the front locker switch through an axuillary fuse, and then to a lead from the 4x4 Low switch that is hot only when the 4x4 Low is engaged. That should make it fairly idiot proof & that way I should'nt have to worry about the computer spazing out and thowing any funky codes when I lock in the front!

Does that sound like it would work....., or am I over looking something???

I'm what you would call "electronically challenged"..., I don't have much of a clue when it comes to electronics!!

Any info. from anybody will be greatly appreciated!

Anyone know where to go online to purchase eaton lockers?
Also, how difficult would it be to install? -welding or drilling?

-I have the base Alpha pkg with neither front or rear lockers.
