RE: H3 0fficial tire sizes
ORIGINAL: haiminger Hi Doc, Thanks, I found also the 2007 PDF file. If you look at www.hummer.com the intresting thing is that GM offers the 285 tiers only in the USA and Canada. If you look at middle-east > Israel, you will see the H3 is offered with 265 tiers only. |
RE: H3 0fficial tire sizes
Hi Bret,
The tyre dealers here will also sell me anything I want, but the problem is not with them. Here the tyre size is written in the car licese paper. In order to change it, you need to go to a authorized license (govermant) place. They will not change it, unless the local importer has not passed certification for these tyres (with another goverment authority). If you drive your truck with tyres diffrent from what is written in your car license, your insurance is void. There are ways around this, but I hate the fact I have to fight stupid decisions like this one here. Why does not GM sell the same truck all over the world? |
RE: H3 0fficial tire sizes
WOW.... I had no idea the issues you guys have with this.... We are not much better here in Jersey though.... anything over 4 inches tire/and/or lift requires special inspections.

RE: H3 0fficial tire sizes
If you are really good with a marker, a 6 and an 8 can look a lot alike :D Just dont let them get too close to the sticker during inspection!
I do love that Michigan has no inspections!! |
RE: H3 0fficial tire sizes
Looks like GM offers diferent sizes in tires, but only one size in tyres. If the inspection requires the tyres to be the size stated on the sticker, just explain to them that you have tires, so it dosn't apply. :D

RE: H3 0fficial tire sizes
that is crazy,i would have thought you could get the same thing there

RE: H3 0fficial tire sizes
Did it,
Today, after I got the HUMMER importer approval, I switched to 33". They did not allow the 35" (it would have void my warranty). One funny thing I discovered, although it states in the manual about TPMS and how to calibrate it, all 5 wheels did not have any TPMS sensors in them. It seems this system is disabled in the version of H3 imprted here. |
RE: H3 0fficial tire sizes
All right hand drive Hummer H3 are assembled in South Africa and they use the 265/75/16 tires, I cant see using the 285's would be a problem!
