H3 0fficial tire sizes
Does anyone have a paper from GM stating the officialy supported tire size for H3 2007?
I tried to replace mine today (265.75R16) into 285.75R16 (sorry I do not know how to translate this into inches), and the local dealer stated that they only support the current size. I need some sort of official document from GM that says they support larger size. Thanks in advance for your help Haim |
RE: H3 0fficial tire sizes
sorry, I don't understand....285's are the tire size that comes stock on the h3 adventure. Just look on the door sticker, tire sizes should be listed there.

RE: H3 0fficial tire sizes
I guess this is correct for the USA.
Here we have the 265.75R16 as default (It's also wrriten on the door sticker), And I do own the adventure model. |
RE: H3 0fficial tire sizes
even a base model should have that posted on the door

RE: H3 0fficial tire sizes
thats just the default,it should also say 285,my 2006 does, and its not an adventure size,it shows it as an option

RE: H3 0fficial tire sizes
Apparently the Israel Adv. Package comes with the 265 tires. But theU.S. Adv. pkg comes with the 285.75R16 -- which is 20 mm wider in the tread and 18 mm taller on the sidewall than the base 265's. Theyare compatible with same stock wheel. If you can get the 285's there in Israel, your dealer should have no objections. Have him call his Hummer representative.

I just took a picture of the sticker on the side of the door (besides the Hebrew you see there) the sticker says two things:
1. It's the adventure model (I have the rear diff locker etc...) 2. The sticker syas the tire size for the H3 is 265.75.R16 3. The sticker syas the tire size for the H2 is 315.70.R17 (but thats noy usefull information to me) here is the picture: |

Haim. Does this Mini Brochure help? http://www.hummer.com/popups/h3_mini_brochure.pdf Page 5 at the top says:
H3 ADVENTURE Includes fully locking electronic rear differential, 4.03:1 2-speed transfer case, 33-in. LT285/75R16C on-road/off-road tires, |
RE: H3 0fficial tire sizes
The funny thing is that If I can get a sticker that has the 285.75R16, and put it on my door (over the existing one) I would not have anyproblem. I could go to the local license authority (this is the procedure here) and replace my tiers?
Anyone has a spare sticker to send me? :) |
RE: H3 0fficial tire sizes
Hi Doc,
Thanks, I found also the 2007 PDF file. If you look at www.hummer.com the intresting thing is that GM offers the 285 tiers only in the USA and Canada. If you look at middle-east > Israel, you will see the H3 is offered with 265 tiers only. Maybe someone in GM thinks pepole here are shorter, and will have hard time climbing 2 more inches into the truck :D I'll have to buttle this one out with the local importer of Hummer. Thanks Haim |
